About

Mary Barry

since circa 2003
Newfoundland's "jazz chantuese" Mary Barry is an alumnus of Vancouver Community College’s jazz program, but this multiple award-winner takes a very eclectic approach to her music. Influenced by jazz, blues, cabaret, “chanson” and even a touch of country, Barry has a versatile voice that brings an emotional honesty to her beautifully crafted originals. Barry has just released her fourth independent CD, "Chansons Irisées", her first full length CD in French, recorded in Québec City by Bruno Fecteau, musical director for Québec legend Gilles Vigneault. Mary Barry is performing at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. (Atlantic Canada House, Place de la Francophonie)
