Richard Garvey is a guitar-strumming, banjo-plucking, sing-along-starting performer and community organizer living on unceded territories of the Lekwungen speaking peoples (Victoria, BC). He began cutting his teeth on the Canadian Folk scene by self-producing shows, tours, press-releases, and albums in 2008, and his first tour took him across South-Western Ontario via bicycle playing shows at cafes, bars, farmers markets, house concerts, and even a rural-bluegrass festival.
Richard’s award winning songs explore the highs and lows of love, injustice, and the marbled mess of the human condition. Whether he's playing to a living room or an amphitheatre, Richard’s warm presence and stories get audiences to laugh, feel, and sing together, making each concert a joyful celebration of humanity
