Victoria Folk Music Society(VFMS) weekly gathering -- Everyone welcome jam 6:45pm, Open Stage 7:30pm, Feature Performers Savoir Faire at 9pm; Norway House, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the door
Savoir Faire is a Vancouver-based folk/traditional music band and a staple at farmers markets and local festivals since 2008. Their trademarks are audience interaction and having fun with music, from soulful ballads to humourous drinking songs to fast dance tunes! The set list tonight will have many songs with good choruses. . .so come prepared!
Their repertoire includes traditional music from Europe, including France, England, the Balkans, and the Baltics, along with a number of lesser known Canadian songs. Savoir Faire is Kristina Zalite (lead vocals, percussion), Naomi Steinberg (lead vocals/flute) Doug Sherlock (violin), Gregory Coyes (guitar/vocals), and Oliver Schneider (button accordion/tambura), and You (hand clapping/chorus/backing vocals).
