With fourteen albums and several plays to his name, Richard Grainger has been a prolific songwriter and performer on the British Folk Scene since the 1980s.
Born in the industrial town of Middlesbrough, Richard was brought up in a musical family and started playing in Teesside folk clubs at age 17. A former member of the Teesside Fettlers, Richard has written many wonderful songs that have become well-known and widely sung both in his native England and abroad. Richard travels the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, New Zealand and recently, Australia, combining traditional songs and his own with a dry north-east humour and many a Yorkshire yarn.
